Through the support of our partnerships with local churches and donors, we were able to pay for 5 Mayan women to attend Nancy Leigh DeMoss’s Revive Our Hearts Womens Conference in Queretero Mexico. This was the first time that 3 of these Mayan ladies have ever been outside the Mayan Zone. You can imagine the fear that they felt going to the airport and flying on an airplane for the first time. Oddly enough, they had never seen an escalator before, and they stood still for a few moments trying to muster up the courage to go up the “moving stairs.”
Needless to say as they attended the conference, their lives were forever changed. There were over 5,000 women who attended this event from across Mexico. They had the opportunity to meet women from other indigenous groups, and they even got to mingle with Robert and Nancy Leigh DeMoss backstage.
It is indeed a pleasure and honor to serve in a ministry that gives underprivileged people-groups the opportunity fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, and experience new things in Christ.
