In October, Hurricane Delta caused a tree to fall on the building of the St. Mary Congregational Church of Abbeville, La. Ten holes were left in the roof and knocked down the steeple. The 100+ year-old building withstood years of Louisiana weather up until the hurricane. The churches history includes being one of the first schools in Vermilion Parish and is a integral part of the Acadiana community. The buildings survival is a link to the past and present.
